Handcrafted Nordic yurts in the Wiltshire countryside

Set within the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, our yurts rest in an organic wildflower and hay meadow at Botswicky Copse, near Bishopstone, where Wiltshire meets Oxfordshire, on the edge of the Cotswolds.

Surrounded by rolling hills, ancient woodland and a small chalk stream, this is a place to arrive, settle in and let things slow down naturally.

We are within easy reach of London, Bristol and Birmingham, yet it feels a long way from anywhere busy.

The Yurts - Built by us, made to last, minimal impact

Each yurt on site has been designed and built by us at Nordic Glamping.

Using traditional steam-bent techniques, we work with Norwegian oak and locally sourced ash to create structures that are strong, simple and suited to the landscape they sit within. As we build them ourselves, we understand how they hold warmth, how light moves through the space and how they feel to live in — not just how they look. We care for each structure with attention and respect, using natural treatments and considered maintenance to extend the life of the wood and canvas. By repairing, preserving and reusing wherever possible, we reduce waste and tread lightly on the land, keeping our impact as low as we can.

Simple, comfortable interiors

Inside, everything is kept straightforward and considered.

You’ll find:

  • Hand-crafted beds made by us

  • Quality mattresses

  • Bedding made from organic cotton, linen or sustainably sourced fabrics

  • Natural wood furnishings and soft lighting

We’ve chosen materials carefully, often using restored or second-hand pieces where possible. We strive to keep our environmental impact as low as possible.

There’s no excess — just a calm, uncluttered space to rest.

(Towels are available on request to help reduce unnecessary washing and environmental impact.)

Warmth, space and time outdoors

Each yurt has its own outdoor space, with seating, a fire pit and a simple cooking setup.

Inside, a wood-burning stove provides warmth on cooler evenings and early mornings. You’ll have a basket of logs and kindling ready for your first night.

There is also access to a shared, well-organised kitchen for preparing meals at your own pace. Beyond that, the site is open — with space to walk, sit, read, or do very little at all.

Meals take a little longer, time is spent outdoors and the small details come into focus, like birds settling in the evening and a clear, star-lit sky after dark.
