Nordic Glamping in Wiltshire — Handcrafted yurts - a peaceful rural retreat
Set within an organic wildflower meadow, our off-grid yurts offer space, stillness and a gentle connection to nature
Nordic yurts, organic farmland and a protected natural landscape
Nordic Glamping invite you to stay in a small number of handcrafted yurts, spaced across a quiet, organic meadow at Botswicky Copse in the stunning countryside of Wiltshire and the North Wessex Natural Landscape. This is a place to slow down properly, where the only sounds are birdsong, wind through the trees and the occasional calls of wildlife. The meadow sits alongside a nature reserve which is home to rare newts, kingfishers, little owls and goldfinches that all form part of the landscape you’ll be sharing during your stay.
Walk through ancient fields, follow well-worn paths across the landscape and notice the small details; wildflowers, old trees and the wildlife that quietly lives here.
Welcome to Botswicky Copse - A slower, quieter way to connect to nature
Our off-grid yurts are built using natural materials including Norwegian oak and English ash, with simple cherry wood furnishings inside.
Everything has been chosen carefully, not for show, but to create a space that feels calm, warm and easy to settle into.
Each yurt is slightly different, but all are designed to give you space to rest, cook, read, and spend time without distraction, with views towards the chalk hills of The Ridgeway and spectacular sunsets to the west.
The site is fully off-grid and sits within Helen Browning’s organic farmland, managed with long-standing sustainable principles.
We are also part of the Greener Camping Club, which supports low-impact stays and environmental projects.
A peaceful off-grid glamping retreat in Wiltshire, close to the Cotswolds and within easy reach of London, Bristol and Oxford.
Botswicky is a 10-acre organic hay meadow, with ancient woodland and protected nature reserves.
There are only a handful of yurts here, each set apart to give a real sense of space and privacy.
On site, you’ll find well-considered comforts - raised, naturally insulated flooring, comfortable beds, clean composting loos, enclosed copper showers with hot water and a shared covered kitchen for cooking in the late afternoon sun.
Nothing is overdone here, with just the right balance of comfort and simplicity; thoughtfully put in place so you can truly unwind, disconnect and settle into a slower, more restorative glamping stay.
Set among open organic farmland, wildflower meadow and surrounding woodland, this is a peaceful off-grid escape where you can properly switch off — away from noise, crowds and distraction and closer to nature at your own pace.
“We have stayed in many yurts but not one like this: the little woodland and clean small stream made a core memory, the kitchen was lovely and just the right size, and the yurt was a warm inviting space that comforted us in our stay.
Vidar and family were lovely - they collected quail eggs for us and even made soap. Vidar invited us in and showed us around, he came back to check on us and made sure we were warm enough.
Overall, this was an awesome Easter trip. We will recommend this to others and come back soon”
Our Yurts
We design and build our own Nordic yurts
Nordic Glamping is our family business and every yurt on site has been handcrafted by us using traditional steam-bent techniques and carefully sourced natural materials.
This means each structure is not only built to last, but thoughtfully made to suit the landscape it sits within, lasting, solid, sustainable and comfortable.
As we build the yurts ourselves, we understand every detail, from how they hold warmth, to how the circular space plays with light through the day.
Things to do nearby…
We’re just a gentle walk from the picture-postcard village of Bishopstone. The route takes around 20 minutes on foot, following quiet paths across open fields, wildflower meadows and small chalk streams, with views that shift gently as you go.
At the heart of the village, you’ll find the much-loved The Royal Oak — an award-winning, organic pub run by Helen Browning. It’s a natural place to pause, whether for a long lunch or a relaxed evening meal, before wandering back as the light softens over the meadow.
